Dan Ferneding, a Project Manager in Baker Group’s Electrical business unit, has earned his Registered Communications Distribution Design (RCDD) certification -- the industry’s highest level of certification for structured cabling. With 16 years field experience as a technician and journeyman, “This certification now allows me to stamp the structured cabling drawings and do design work on future projects. It also allows Baker Group to bid on any government job,” he says.

Offered through the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), the RCDD requires at least 5 years of communications technology experience, intensive study, completion of a week-long RCDD course in Orlando and successfully passing the RCDD exam, which Ferneding took at the end of May. To maintain his certification, Ferneding must recertify every three years.
