Starting July of 2005, the public began to utilize over 83,000 square feet of the latest in cardiology care and research. Iowa Heart Center, the leader in treating cardiovascular disease throughout the state of Iowa, combined services that were previously provided at 411 Laurel Street, Mercy West, and 207 Crocker Street into a state of the art facility located at the corner of 59th Place and University in West Des Moines.
Baker Group provided complete design/build mechanical services for this new facility. The HVAC system incorporated the use of a VAV rooftop system, complete with fan powered VAV boxes with electric reheat, all controlled by a web based DDC control system.
