Similar to DMACC's Ames, Iowa location, the DMACC Career Academy at Perry is a combination automotive and trades teaching center. Complete with four auto lifts, welding stations, and classroom spaces, DMACC is now able to provide many services related to career advancement west of the Des Moines metro area.
Baker Group provided and installed a geothermal system that serves the shop and classroom areas. Outdoor air was provided by a heat pump ERV, and water source heat pumps serve classroom areas. Baker Group also provided and installed plumbing, compressed air, and tailpipe exhaust systems in the facility.
DMACC is striving for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating.
