There are few employees at Baker Group who work with a wider range of clients than Stacy Pearson. As Operations Manager for the Compressed Air department, Pearson works with clients ranging from family farmers to large industrial manufacturing facilities.

 Specifically, the department offers a complete package of compressed air piping systems and services, including system design and consulting. Additionally, the department supplies and installs air compressors, air dryers, air receivers and flow control equipment. Pearson says the variety ensures each day brings something new.

 “I love the customers we work with,” she says. Pearson has served in the manager role since 2019 and oversees a team of around a half dozen that includes a sales team, warehouse personnel and compressed air auditors. “As an organization we put a lot of emphasis on living out our core values and doing things like going the extra mile for our clients, being creative in solving problems, and building long-term relationships. When we can deliver a solution that meets the specific needs of one of our clients it feels good.” 

“We care about each other,” she continues, “we care about our customers, and we care about doing a good job.” 

In addition to overseeing her team, Pearson is very involved in day-to-day duties including negotiating contracts, working with vendors, and implementing pricing structures. She has a diverse background that helps her in what is a unique role at Baker Group.

Pearson was in the nursing profession for more than a decade and has experience in manufacturing. She says that while she wasn’t specifically looking for work in construction, she is glad to have found her work home at Baker Group 18 years ago. She encourages other women to consider a role in the industry—even though it has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

“Baker Group has been a great fit for me,” Pearson says. “I don’t think women need to be intimidated when considering a role in a construction-related field. They need to hold their head up high, lean in and be part of the discussions. If they run into someone trying to discredit them, they just need to commit to ensuring their voice continues to be heard.”
